I personally thought it was a joke of some sort until my boss turned around, smiled and nodded at me. As it sunk in, I started to realize what this means for me.
I will no longer work for a small open source company with one major product. Instead I will work for a very large company with many products, both software and hardware. My day to day job should be the same for the most part, but I am excited to see what new challenges will come. This will provide many opportunities for myself and MySQL.
